Dutch parliamentarians:  “Government, address supermarkets on their responsibility”

Feb 1, 2021

On 1 February 2021, the motion by parliamentarians Dik-Faber and Sazias on supermarket advertising was adopted by 95 votes. In the motion, Dik-Faber and Sazias request the government to call on supermarkets to take responsibility and agree that at least 80% of supermarket advertising is spent on healthy products. Dik-Faber and Sazias point out that this is currently the opposite: around 80% of supermarkets’ advertising budget is spend to promote unhealthy products as was shown by Superlist Health 2020 last October.

You can read the full motion here (in Dutch).
