“Murky” view on fish welfare

Fish welfare is hardly part of the policy of supermarkets, fishing and fish farming legislation and existing fish labels. This is the main conclusion of the research report "Murky view on fish welfare" that Questionmark produced on behalf of the Animal Protection organization. According to the Animal Protection organization, the lack of information on fish welfare gives room for concern about the suffering of the animals during catch, breeding, transport and unsedated slaughter.
