This satay sauce ranking is based on the information on the product label of a selection of satay sauces found in the supermarkets Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Ekoplaza, Jan Linders, Plus, Lidl and Aldi. The place of a product in the comparison is determined by the themes health (25%) and sustainability (75%). For health, the amount of salt, sugar and saturated fat is included. For sustainability, the brands were compared on the most important sustainability risks for complex foods, as determined by Wageningen University & Research and The Sustainability Consortium. Each of these risks was looked at using the openly published policies of the companies behind the satay sauce brands
