The figure below shows the total number of meat or fish promotions for each of the four supermarkets, divided by animal type, over the five weeks. During the research period, Morrisons (1490) and Asda (1352) ran considerably more promotions for meat or fish than Tesco (948) and Sainsbury’s (933). Also in proportion to the total number of food promotions, meat promotions are more prevalent at Morrisons and Asda (12% and 11% of their total promotions respectively) than at Sainsbury’s (7%) or Tesco (9%).
