Organic fish is always farmed fish; wild fish cannot be certified organic. The organic certificate sets requirements for the origin of juvenile fish (juveniles), fish feed, slaughtering techniques, and farming systems (which also take into account the risk of farmed fish escaping). Part of the requirements is about animal welfare; fish are kept in an environment with a soil that is as natural as possible and in water with sufficient oxygen. | |||
